Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team reach locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This results in them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Planners parties.
Viewers can anticipate learning which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
